This graph shows Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which is the market value of all goods and services produced in the U.S. in a year. It is a measure of the size of the economy. The large dip is attributable to the recession.
- Vertical axis shows the the dollar value of the GDP. Amounts should be multiplied by 1,000,000 to yield values in trillions.
- Horizontal axis shows calendar quarters beginning with the first quarter of 2002.
